What needs attention now, and what should our communities look like over the next 50 years?

We’ve posted the discussion questions separately so you can comment on the issues that matter to you. Browse

the posts and add your thoughts beneath the relevant question.

You can support an idea, raise a concern, suggest an alternative or tell us what we’ve missed. You do not need to answer every question.

The full discussion package is available in Files. These are questions for community discussion.

22. What have we missed?

What is your boldest idea for Tamahere, Matangi and Tauwhare over the next 50 years?

Are there needs, places or possibilities missing from these questions? Have we combined issues that deserve

separate consideration?

Tell us what you would like future generations to inherit—and what we should start doing now to make that

possible.

Vision Tamahere 2075

From TCC Chair - Charles Fletcher : The TCC subcommittee developing your new Community Plan has canvased community views over the last 8 months and it now formulating the new Community Plan for Tamahere, taking into consideration a mutally beneficial association with Matangi and Tuawhare. Hamilton City and Cambridge/Hautapu growth pressures have the potential to adversely impact on the lifestyle experiences currently enjoyed in these current rural, country living and village environments. Local roads are already suffering from the influences these pressures (e.g. construction of the new "peanut roundabout" on Morrinsville Road).

If you want a say is this vital work, please contact Charles Fletcher as the chairperson of TCC at tamaherecommunity@gmail.com

The aim is to deliver this plan during October 2026 so that it can be adopted by the Waikato Disctrict Council it time for consideration for the February 2027 deliberations for the LTP update.
