Tamahere - Let's ShakeOut - There is a good opportunity coming up to practice. New Zealand ShakeOut 2026 takes place at 1.30pm tomorrow Wednesday 21 October. The nationwide exercise is designed to make the correct response almost instinctive: participants simply practice Drop, Cover and Hold for 60 seconds.

The Tamahere Community Response Group (Civil Defence -TCRG) is a community-led volunteer group working alongside Waikato District Council Emergency Management. Its purpose is simple: use local people, knowledge and connections to help Tamahere prepare for, respond to and recover from emergencies.
