Yes it's that time of year again and a full agenda for the last meeting of the year.
The Committee reviewed the draft TCC Charter 2025–2028, with members noting a few areas needing clarification, particularly around conflict of interest, communication expectations, and whether the Charter should include a process for removing members acting against committee intentions.
Minor amendments were made to clauses 4(e) and 4(g), and the Charter was formally adopted unanimously.
Key Council and Project Updates
WDC representatives provided updates across several local projects:
Tamahere Reserve: Consultation approach is being refined, with further community engagement expected.
Tamahere Reserve Access & Bridges: A review is underway due to cost escalation, with alternate access options being assessed.
Toilets for Tamahere Park: Supplier pricing has been requested and is being reviewed.
CCTV: Now operational and already assisting police with incident response.
Roading: Clarification was sought on the timing of Tamahere Drive repairs, with stakeholder considerations noted.
Water Services: Establishment of a new joint Hamilton–Waikato water CCO is progressing.
Long-term Plan (LTP): Early work has begun for the 2027–2037 cycle, with community input expected in early 2026.

Planning & Future Direction
Work continues on the TCC Community Plan, including the proposal to view the ward through four distinct zones to better understand future needs.
Southern Links engagement continues, with TCC now recognised as a stakeholder and seeking regular updates.
Discussion occurred on whether the committee should explore incorporation to support handling future funding responsibilities.

The Committee agreed to meet on the first Tuesday of each month from February to December 2026.
