Rain or shine, the Tamahere Country Market rolls out every third Saturday of the month, welcoming locals and visitors alike to one of the Waikato’s most popular community gatherings.
Run by St Stephen’s Church, the Market has been a local staple since 2004, showcasing a wide variety of New Zealand-made, grown, or created goods. From sculptured garden rocks to handmade skincare, children’s wear, doggy treats, and seasonal plants, there’s something for everyone among the 100+ stalls (a few less during the winter months).
Coffee and food stalls are always a draw, with the bacon butties earning near-legend status in Tamahere. For a quieter bite, pop into the Church Hall for a Devonshire tea.
The Market is dog-friendly, but please remember: dogs on a leash, and bring a bag to clean up after them.
Need cash? EFTPOS is available at the Church Office (please note: no credit cards).
Parking is available in the paddock opposite the church, or along Tamahere Drive and Wiremu Tamihana Drive. If you park on the far side, use the underpass for safe access. Better yet, cycle to the Market via the Te Awa Cycleway and skip the traffic altogether.
