More 'Wet and Forget' on Te Awa Cycle Way This Wednesday & Thursday

PUBLIC NOTICE: Wet & Forget Application on Te Awa Cycleway – Wednesday 21 & Thursday 22 May,2025

Please be advised that contractors will be applying Wet & Forget to several shaded sections of the Te Awa Cycleway this Wednesday and Thursday (weather permitting), as part of ongoing maintenance to manage moss and mould in low-sunlight areas.

Key Locations Targeted:

  • Strip alongside Tamahere Village shops

  • Section on Tamahere Drive near the car restoration business

  • Pencarrow and Hooker Road corner

  • Hooker Road to the Te Awa entrance

  • “Bamboo corner” section

  • Behind Neill Porrit’s home, leading to the boardwalk

Important Note for Dog Owners:

Wet & Forget is non-toxic once dry, but if a dog walks through it while still wet and then licks their paws, it may cause an upset stomach. Please take care and avoid these areas while the product is drying.

Drying Times & Signage:

  • The product typically dries within two hours in good weather.

  • If overcast or in shaded areas, drying may take longer.

  • Signage will be placed during application, but note the contractor must remove signs once the job is complete, which means some sections may still be drying.

We appreciate your understanding as we keep the Te Awa Cycleway clean and safe. Please help spread the word and take care while walking or riding through the affected areas this week.

See attached images for reference on where the product will be applied.

Thank you,
